The Scouts of the World Award Discovery Workshop is here again

Greetings!

The Scouts of the World Award Discovery Workshop is here again! Started in 2006, the Singapore base has since successfully completed five Discovery workshops and three Voluntary Service projects: Project Sirius – Rovering with Rhinos, Project Orion – Rovering with Turtles and the latest Project Sikkim.

The Discovery Workshop aims to expose young people to the global issues that our Earth and Country is facing – to Explore, Respond and Take Action. Besides raising awareness of our rich natural heritage and community, the workshop also seeks to equip the youth with development, facilitation and planning skills in preparation for the next phase - the Voluntary Service project.

Date: 30th April to 2nd May 2010
Venue: Sarimbun Scout Camp
Participants Eligibility: Ventures, Rovers and non-Scouts (17 to 26 years old) and Leaders (Observers)

Programme Highlights: An intertidal exploration shore walk and a visit to the only preserved animal natural history museum in Singapore

Submission of Application: All applications must be submitted to the Singapore Scout Association (Madelene.Seow@scout.org.sg) by 5th April 2010, accompanied with the course form. Limited vacancies available. You will be notified of your application thereafter.
